It looks like we are having a really interesting situation (and amazing pilots) in Brazil this year! While in the last years Quixada was the spot we heard most news of, a new spot is calling our attention: Tacima!
The air distance between Taxima (east) and Quixada is around 450 kilometers, as shown by Karel Vejchodsky with his 457 km flight last saturday. We wonder if he slept at the location of Flywithandy when finished his exhausting flight… The 20 m/s climb looks really impressive – even if it might not be accurately measured and even if it would be only half: all our respect.
In any case, the question we are asking is: what’s the 2-day world record? Tacima – Quixada on day one and then flying another couple of hundred kilometers from Quixada. Looking at the XContest results of October 2014 it seems possible to make 800 km in 2 days.
And here are the results from Tacima:
What do normal paragliders learn from Karel and the other pilots?
Tie your shoes well if you fly in Brazil!
