Have you ever seen somebody going down with a rescue? I did – in a safety training a couple of times, but also in a real situation. It’s scary!
Paragliding, undoubtably, is a sport with risk factors that have to be well managed – by the pilot but also with new technologies and materials. I consider the new development of base-rescue-harnesses as a promising trend. In the future, a lighter system might also be used in XC harnesses. Flying somewhere in the alps, I’d appreciate the super fast opening and the steer-ability for sure! Even though it might be hard to find my wing, I highly prefer searching, than a butt-landing on rocks.
See the Supair Website for more information on this Acro Base System.
